1986 Cadillac Deville

I grew up with Cadillac’s. My grandfather had Cadillac since I was a little kid. I loved Cadillac’s. I wanted to be like my grandfather, in every way possible. So, when I got my first Cadillac, I was beyond the moon.  Unfortunately, I had one of the Cadillac’s from the 80s where they were trying to be more efficient and suing cylinders deactivation to make the engine more efficient.  The goal basically was at a certain speed, you wouldn’t need all 8 cylinders anymore, or all six cylinders. So, one or two of the cylinders would shut off. It sounds great in theory and has been proven to be effective nowadays. However back in the 80s what happened was many of these engines blew up.

However back in the 80s what happened was many of these engines blew up.

Mine was one of them. But, because they were such an issue, I got a brand-new engine covered by warranty.  Unfortunately, that engine blew up as well!  Not GM’s finest moment. But I did love everything about the car, well except for the exploding engine, I love the way it rode I loved the way it felt I loved sitting in the car and being in the car. If only it worked.
